He takes me to the desert
where the sky is bright and clean
and while he holds me he whispers
snow and winter green.
Once more we merge in the summer
though his spring is truly my fall.
I wish to weave through woods with him
and let my flickering fears stall.
You ask me of my next adventure
spewing dreams of Mongolia, Jeeps, and skies.
I tell you I just miss my sister
my family, the warmth of simple sighs.
I crave his eyes boldly sparkling
the flash when they magnetize mine.
He tells me his soul inhales mountains
and he yearns to exhale canyon time.
What do you think of alone
if you’re not trying to discover yourself?
I fixate on releasing the fantasy
the reality of someone else.
